The Paris auto show (it won’t close before Oct 16, if you are interested) was praised as the “tipping point” of electric cars. Indeed, every major EU automaker has at least a few EVs on display. The race to beat the 2020 EU emissions deadline is on, and with diesel falling out of favor, there is a massive switch to EVs. Meanwhile, away from the glitter and the girls, EU carmaker execs worry about “who will buy all that electric stuff.” A reality check next door in Germany shows that the fears are not overblown.
