The emissions created by Volkswagen’s diesel shenanigans continue to cloud the future of diesel cars worldwide. Yesterday, the scandal reached an unlikely part of the world. In Japan, where diesel cars were banned not too long ago in Tokyo, and where they have a market share slightly above 1 percent, the government tested real-world emissions of diesel cars made by Japanese OEMs. Most vehicles were found emitting much more than what was measured in standard lab tests, the Nikkei writes.
