Unhappy times for battery-powered cars in Germany
The German BEV market was down a hard 36.8% in July, while registrations of hybrid vehicles rose 33.5%. Registrations of gasoline/diesel cars were flat. All data courtesy of the German regulator Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt KBA.
Tesla suffered badly in that market. Its German registrations were down 36.7% in July, and down a 41.1% for Jan-July. Garnering a meh 8% market share, Tesla landed behind the July sales of the Hyundai Group.
