Tesla suffered badly in that market. Its German registrations were down 36.7% in July, and down a 41.1% for Jan-July. Garnering a meh 8% market share, Tesla landed behind the July sales of the Hyundai Group.
Shooting star SAIC, the Chinese contender that outsold everybody except Volkswagen last month in terms of BEVs, fizzled out a month later. Hangover from pushing everything into the German market before anti-China tariffs came into effect.
For the year, the German BEV market is firmly in the hands of the homegrown dinosaurs. Who would have thought?
