Global carmakers need to change their plodding ways, and embrace “massive change of our products,” Renault and Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn said today. “The car has seen rapid change in the past ten years,” Ghosn told leaders of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry today in Tokyo. “Let me tell you, the car five to ten years down the road is going to be much more different from the one today.” [ There is more … ]

EU passenger car registrations up strongly in June, even in Greece

EU passenger car registrations were up a solid 14.6 percent in June, the manufacturers’ association ACEA reports. Nearly all markets were up, with volume markets Spain, France, Italy, Germany, and the UK +12.9 percent posting double-digit growth. Even troubled Greece was up 13 percent, as people with cash converted it into assets.
